Andy Yombo

Andy Yombo has a Masters in Tropical Animal Science with a focus on Epidemiology from James Cook University and is a Senior Technical Officer as an Epidemiologist with the National Agriculture Quarantine Inspection Authority. He is currently the Focal Point for Disease Notification to the OIE. He was once the Acting Chief Quarantine Animals and PNG Delegate to the OIE. His experience includes developing animal health policies on import and export border control. He coordinated and lead field activities during the New Castle disease outbreak in Vanimo in 2013 and is now the key technical person on the ASF response and containment exercise currently under way in the Highlands of PNG.
