Prof Cord Heuer is leading the EpiCentre at Massey University, New Zealand, a team of ten academics, four support staff, and currently 15 master and PhD students. He is also Director of the OIE Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health in association with the Molecular EpiLab (Massey) and the China Animal Health Epidemiology Centre at Tsingdao (Shandong, China). As a veterinary epidemiologist, Cord has a research interest in epidemiology, public health and production economics of infectious diseases in temperate and tropical livestock farming environments. Special interests are field investigations and mathematical modelling of the transmission, economics and control of infectious diseases in human and animal populations.
