Dr. Soulasack VANNAMAHAXAY is the Head of the Veterinary Medicine Division at the Faculty of Agriculture at the National University of Laos (NUoL).
He graduated in 2009 and completed his PhD in 2020 at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. His postgraduate study focused on veterinary virology, molecular epidemiology, and bioinformatics analysis. His research interests include animal viral diseases, molecular epidemiology, bioinformatics analysis, and zoonotic diseases.
He has been a lecturer at NUoL since 2010. Currently, he is involved in the project “Investigating the Burden of Pig Parasites in Taenia solium Hotspots in Northern Lao PDR” (ACIAR). He is also serving as a project investigator for “Surveillance and Control of Brucellosis in Vientiane, Lao PDR: A One Health Approach” (MOHIP). From 2023 to 2026, he was the project coordinator for “Surveillance and Control of Chicken Disease in VienCane, Lao PDR” (KOICA).
