APCOVE Newsletter – February 2025

We’re delighted to share the February 2025 edition of the APCOVE Quarterly Newsletter!

This issue showcases the steady progress of APCOVE Phase II as we continue building regional capacity in field veterinary epidemiology and One Health. From stakeholder consultations and competency mapping to new partnerships and team members, this edition highlights our collective commitment to strengthening animal and human health systems across the Asia-Pacific region.

Highlights from this edition:

• Phase II Momentum: APCOVE continues to strengthen the region’s animal health workforce, building on the strong foundations of Phase I to enhance preparedness against emerging and endemic diseases.
• Country Consultations: Activities 1 and 2 are advancing through stakeholder consultations to tailor field epidemiology training programs to country-specific needs and priorities.
• One Health Development: Activities 3 and 4 are mapping competencies to inform the design of One Health training and e-learning modules for veterinary educators across the region.
• GEDSI Commitment: APCOVE welcomes Professor Kyoko Kusakabe from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, to lead collaborations on Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), reinforcing inclusivity in all activities.
• Team Expansion: Newly appointed Project Officers have joined the APCOVE team, supporting the smooth implementation of all four key activities.
• Training Opportunities: The Expression of Interest (EOI) for APCOVE’s Field Veterinary Epidemiology Training (Activity 2) has been launched—partners are encouraged to share this widely within their networks.
• Collaborative Progress: Appreciation is extended to in-country partners and workshop participants for their continued dedication and contributions to strengthening One Health capacity across the Asia-Pacific region.
