APCOVE Newsletter – November 2024

We’re delighted to share the inaugural edition of the APCOVE Quarterly Newsletter!

This first issue marks an exciting milestone for APCOVE as we celebrate our achievements and look ahead to Phase II. From the launch of our multilingual training package to the official project launch in Vietnam, this edition highlights the collaboration, innovation, and shared commitment driving our efforts to strengthen field veterinary epidemiology and One Health capacity across the Asia-Pacific region.

Highlights from this edition:

• Training Milestone: APCOVE’s comprehensive field veterinary epidemiology training package is now freely available in six languages on the APCOVE website – a major collaborative achievement by our authors, reviewers, and designers.
• Phase II Launch: With new funding secured, APCOVE Phase II expands on Phase I with a stronger focus on One Health, enhanced mentor and facilitator training, and hands-on learning experiences such as outbreak investigations and simulation exercises.
• Structured Leadership: A new leadership framework has been introduced, with dedicated leads for each activity to strengthen coordination and ensure sustainability.
• Project Spotlight: The official project launch in Vietnam marks the beginning of APCOVE Phase II activities across the region.
• Feature Story: A fictional “Goat Flu” outbreak story provides an engaging look into applied epidemiology and outbreak response.
• Community Engagement: Members are invited to share project updates, publications, promotions, and personal milestones for upcoming issues—strengthening our vibrant APCOVE community.
